Green Roof Plants

This is an example of tolerable plants to create diverse extensive green roof habits (e.g. 2 inch drainage and 3 inch FLL certified growing media). Plant diversity is the key for long-term sustainability, reduced maintenance and enhanced green roof benefits. Creating plant diversity requires an advanced level of horticultural knowledge and sufficient experience of practical/ hands on green roof maintenance. Diverse green roofs habits prohibit the use of chemical growth and weed control substances. Open flames (Flame Weeders)  also increase damage of the ecosystem “Green Roof” and is considered as unprofessional procedure.
